Coordinators and Assistant Coordinators from all over the United States and Canada came together in Las Vegas October 31 through November 2 for their annual meeting and training update.  

The days were jamb-packed with lots of new things to learn, starting with a "Train the Trainer' session conducted by Shelley Hamill and JoEllen Cimmino aimed at honing the presentation skills of those Coordinators and Assistant Coordinators that will become members of the 2009 training team.

Saturday was a real treat  - the day was spent becoming certified instructors as everyone became Homeland Security Training Officers for AWR 180-1. An excellent class in Agri-terrorism, contamination and decontamination. Not only was it extremely relevant information, but everyone got to practice wearing the appropriate gear.

The weekend ended with a discussion about the state of the organization and what 2009 may hold.

It was also the time to welcome old friends and get to know everyone.

This was the opportunity to pay tribute to the hard work and dedication of the Coordinators and Assistant Coordinators during 2008 and to let them know that none of the awesome progress made this year would have happened without them.
